Description

Handmade unbound photograph album. Made of black construction paper with the the word Limerick written on the front in gold ink. Contains approximately 37 albumen prints taken and compiled by an unknown individual. Album is dated circa 1880. The photographs are believed to depict East Orange, Vermont, as signs for the East Orange Post Office and East Orange Church are found within the album. The vast majority of photographs in the album are nature photographs and photographs of building exteriors such as the church, houses, and businesses. Some unidentified people can be seen in these images doing various activities, such as boating and tending to the fields with a horse. A small collection of group and individual portraits can be in the album. The individuals in these portraits are not identified. Album illustrates life in East Orange, Vermont, in the late 19th century.
