These albums were originally published in twelve parts under the title "Berkshire County Illustrated." The images are high quality gravure plates of buildings, churches, important residences, landscapes, waterfalls, and mills in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Communities included are Great Barrington, Mt. Greylock, Pittsfield, Williamstown, Lanesborough, North Adams, Brooklyn, Stockbridge, Lee, and Dalton. Each part is accompanied by one to three pages of running narrative which continues from part to part. Topics include geology of the area, history, manufacturing, architecture, natural features, and commentaries about prominent citizens.
