Small photo album with 91 albumen photographs belonging to Mrs. William Blackwood. Her bookplate is in the front of the album. Most photographs are identified and show life at their home in Gloucester, Mass, on the coast of Maine, and their home in Paoli, Pennsylvania. Coastal Maine photographs include Cushing Island, Casco Bay and Portland Harbor. Many labeled photos are of Emma and Margaret [possibly the Blackwood children?] with their parents in Gloucester and of Aunt Janet ( Mrs. Blackwoods' sister) with her horses and at her home in Paoli, PA. Some wonderful pictures of children playing, having a tea party and playing with dolls. A lovely family album showing life in the early 1900s. The description from the seller says " The Blackwoods live in Paoli, Pennsylvania and Gloucester, Massachusetts. Her sister and her husband, Janet and Arthur Gillespie, were their neighbors in Paoli and raised several well known horses. Mr. Blackwood's brother, shown in the album in uniform, was Dr. Norman J. Blackwood, graduate of Annapolis and Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia and rose to the rank of rear admiral. He also was awarded the Navy Cross for Service during World War One while commanding a hospital ship."
