1865-1880
GUSN-268600
An album of cartes de visite and tintypes, some gems. Some sitters are identified. These are mostly pictures of the Laurence family. Of interest are two tintypes which have the stamp of the Vine Street Galleries in Philadelphia. Tintypes are usually unmarked due to the difficulty of writing or gluing on metal.
There are many Gloucester, Mass. photographers represented, such as Erastus G. (?) Rollins, William A. Elwell, E.V. Dailey and Adams. There are also photos by C.S. Sanderson of Dover, N.H. The album has a special patented spine and is identified as a "Harding Flexible Chain Back Album" patented in 1865.
