GUSN-268449
Cartes de visite of the Story family and relations. An index in front of the album identifies the sitters. Members of the Mansfield and Maynard families are also included in the album. New Jersey, Salem, Mass. and South Carolina photographers are represented. Boston photographers include: E.L. Allen; Hale; Silsbee Case & Co.; and W.R. Hawkes.
Of interest is a printed carte de visite of flowers meant as a memorial for a child who died in 1869 at ten months old. The caption reads "Little Annie's flowers." A few of the photos were taken of painted portraits and there are a few snapshots, probably taken by the family itself. There is also one tintype from 1876. Many of these are in poor condition.
