Photo album titled: "Louis XVI Chairs 8." Title is hand printed in black on front cover; title and volume number are hand printed in black on spine. Album has a beige fabric covering and 122 dark gray pages, all of which are now loose. Twenty-four of the pages are blank. Album contains 96 mounted black-and-white photographs. Photographs are of a variety of chairs in the Louis XVI style manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The order number and year are often shown on a display in the photographs; model numbers are also provided n some cases. Customer names are handwritten on some album pages. Named customers are: Frank E. Anderson (Houston, TX); Jordan Marsh (Boston, MA); E. R. Pierce; E. L. Snider (Brookline, MA); and F. W. Woolworth (Glen Cove, NY). Also contained in the album are four photographs of French furniture in various museums. Digital images of a selection of photographs from the album are attached to this record.
