Account book for collection of taxes for town of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Letter from the Assessors of Newbury on first page, dated November 21, 1755, instructs Ambroy Berry, Constable of Newbury, to collection taxes from the list of taxpayers in the book. Letter instructs how much is to be paid in total to the Province, Town, and County treasuerers. Thirty-seven pages of taxpayers names in alphabetical recording taxes paid, the amount paid, and selected notes follow the letter.
