The clippings in this album, entitled Scraps, are largely from a series called Old Homes, Old Families and are illustrated with line engravings of historic houses in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, possibly rom the Boston Globe. Also included are many poems and articles about families and family life in Olden Times dating from the 1890s.
Among the houses documented are: Phipps House, Salem Street, Boston; Nurse House, Danvers; Blaney House, Everett; Chute House, Byfield; Sampson Estate, Bedfored; Kersiah Randell House; and homes in Exeter and Hampton, NH and Tunbridge, VT.
