The scrapbook contains approximately 18 pages of pasted-in, empty sugar packets collected from well-known restaurants such as Friendly Ice Cream Shops, Howard Johnson's, and many favorite eastern Massachusetts establishments such as Hilltop Steak House and the Union Oyster House. Accumulated during the 1950s, many other lesser known eateries are encluded, with as many as twelve to a page. Some sugar packets depict tourist destinations and landmarks, others are illustrated with pictures of birds, U.S. presidents, or representations of buildings such as taverns and lighthouses. The collection also includes a number of loose packets.
