Description

The painting "Mars, Venus and Vulcan" by John Singleton Copley depicts a mythological scene. Venus is seated in the center, with Mars standing to the right in armor and holding a spear. Vulcan is on the left, partially hidden, working on an object. Two cherubic figures are present; one is flying above while the other is on the ground next to Mars, holding onto his leg. A landscape with trees forms the backdrop. It was photographed at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
