Description

Folder one of two containin photographs removed from a binder. Binder contained black-and-white photographs of Grey Pines, Kenneth Grey Sears's summer house in West Dennis, Massachusetts. Grey Pines was built by noted New England architect David Fried and built by builder Seth R. Nickerson of S. R. Nickerson, Inc. The photographs depict the interior, exterior, lighting, and landscaping of the house during and after the construction process. Spaces such as bedrooms, the kitchen, living room, facade of the house, and the landscaped garden and yard are featured. Duplicates of photographs from the Grey Pines album are in this binder as are a large number of others not included. Photographs of the construction of Grey Pines and the property surrounding the house are heavily featured in the binder. Various photographs of Sears, his relatives, and friends are also in the binder. Many of the photos are labeled, presumably by Sears, with dates, names, and brief descriptions. The binder measured 15 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches. Materials were removed from the binder and refoldered for preservation purposes.
