Lyman Estate Function Rentals

LYMExteriorRearDavidBohl.jpg

The beautiful Lyman Estate mansion, with its thirty-seven acres of lawns, gardens, and historic greenhouses, offers a private and exceptional setting for social and corporate events, including weddings and private parties, corporate events and outings, business meetings and seminars, and holiday parties.

Historic New England has been awarded a significant grant that is funding major property care work on both the interior and exterior of the Lyman mansion throughout 2011.  We will take a brief hiatus from renting the facility while this project is in progress. The grant will allow Historic New England to completely retrofit this National Historic Landmark in order to make the building highly energy efficient.  Once completed, the Lyman Estate will reopen in 2012, serving as a model for turning historic buildings and function sites "green.”

E-mail the Lyman Estate staff to inquire about remaining dates in 2010.

Codman Estate Gardens and Carriage House, Gov. John Langdon House Gardens, Roseland Cottage Gardens and Carriage House, and Hamilton House Gardens will remain available for function rentals during this period.

The Lyman Estate is located at 185 Lyman Street in Waltham, Mass. View directions to the estate.

Designed in 1793 for wealthy shipping merchant Theodore Lyman, the estate was the home of the prominent Lyman family for more than 150 years. Read more about the history of the Lyman Estate.
