Design drawings, circa 1900

Description

Collection of twenty-six design drawings of designs which could be used to decorate ceilings, frames, and other materials. The artist is unknown. The drawings are dated circa 1900. Some of the drawings are preliminary sketches, some are in progress, and others are complete. The drawings are in a number of mediums, such as pencil, ink, and watercolor. The majority of the designs are on drawing paper, although some are on thinner sketch paper and others are on the back of draft certificates and diplomas for various organizations in Chicago, Illinois. Two of the drawings are in memoriams for speculator and organizer Sydney A. Kent and author Lewis Henry Boutell.
