One mounted albumen print taken by renowned Scottish-Canadian photographer William Notman. The photograph depicts a group portrait of the twelve surviving charter members of the Algonquin Club, a private social club in Boston, Massachusetts. The club was formed on April 9, 1886. At the time, it was only open to men. The Algonquin Club is still open today and its clubhouse is located on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts. On the mount, the following is inscribed: "The Twelve Surviving Charter Members of the Algonquin Club that was Formed on April 9, 1886 / Frank G. Webster, Josiah W. Hayden, Thomas N. Nart, Edward Jewell, J.R. Leeson, George H. Williams, / George D. Clapp, James L. Wesson, Henry E. Russell, Isaac W. Chick, Herbert Nash, William J. Riley.
