This collection of arguments by the legal counsel for the town of Bourne decries Frederick Lockwood's attempt to build the Cape Cod Canal. According to N. Sumner Myrick, the trouble caused to the citizenry of their town ought to be enough reason to scrap the project. Meanwhile, Hon. Hiram P. Harriman and Hon. Hosea M. Knowlton still maintain the canal's importance to the entire country, and to the people of Bourne.
