Series V, Edward Pierce (1735-1818) papers, 1780 (#OB1.1-OB1.2), contains a collection of newspapers from the Boston Gazette and the Country Journal. The collection is comprised of twenty-seven issues and one supplementary issue, which were published between April 3 and December 18, 1780; each issue is inscribed with pierce's signature. The newspaper was published weekly on Mondays and disseminated local, national and international news, as well as advertisements for merchants, auctions, employment, real estate, ships, and other items. The series is arranged chronologically.
