Description

This series contains two linear feet of record cartons, containing correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, blueprints, albums, and ephemera largely relating to the Edric A. Weld family group of the Weld-Appleton Family. There is additional material related to the Brewer and Amory families present. In addition to family photographs, albums, and correspondence, there is ephemera including sports ephemera, dance cards and dance lesson receipts, and materials relating to Edric A. Weld and Gertrude Elizabeth Mackey Weld's wedding. These materials were gifted from the Edric A. Weld Revocable Trust in 2010. A detailed inventory of the materials is in each box.

This series includes family papers from Edric A. Weld, nephew of William Sumner Appleton, founder of SPNEA (now Historic New England). Edric Amory Weld was the oldest child of Dorothy E. Appleton Weld (1878-1965) and George Francis Weld (1866-1933). He was born in 1899 and married Gertrude Elizabeth Mackey on June 21, 1923. The archival material in this series was gifted from the Edric A. Weld Revocable Trust in 2010 as related, complimentary material to the exisiting Weld Appleton Family papers at Historic New England.
