Black-and-white photograph of Chippendale-style arm and side chairs. Both chairs have shaped crest rail and scrolled ears with extensive foliate carving; pierced splat with four flaring stiles with small carved rosettes joining the ribs at the middle; shaped stiles; seat with over-the-rail upholstery and single row of metal tacks along the bottom edge; raked rear legs; and cabriole front legs with shell and foliate carved knees and large paw feet. Arm chair has shaped arms with scrolled handholds and curved arrm supports with carved acanthus leaves; Handwritten notation on photograph is A. H. Davenport Co. detail number "3439."
