Design for a newel post for the house of C. J. Billings, 428 Main Street, Fitchburg, Mass. The house was built by Dr. Jonas A. Marshall. C. J. Billings married Marshall's daughter and owned the house for a time; later, James Phillips purchased the house. The house was demolished prior to 1989.
