Description

An assemblage that may have formed part of the staircase trim: 1) a post (or stud) to which a half baluster (with bottom end beveled to match the rake of the stairs) is attached; 2) a sheathing board with feathered edge is attached at a right angle; 3) Baluster has turnings which are symmetrical at the top and bottom. Hand-wrought nails.
