The barkentine "Herbert Fuller" of Harrington, Maine is moored at a wharf near Summer Street in East Boston, Massachusetts. During a voyage to Rosario, Argentina, Captain Charles I. Nash, his wife Laura, and second mate August W. Blomberg were murdered on July 14, 1896. First mate Thomas M. C. Bram was accused of the crimes and thr first trial began on January 1, 1897 and he was found guilty and sentenced to death on March 10, 1897. After his lawyers succeeded in obtaining a new trial, Bram was convicted on April 20, 1898 and sentenced to life imprisonment. After incarceration in the Massachusetts State Prison in Charlestown, he was transferred on November 26, 1906 to a federal prison in Atlanta. He was released on August 27, 1913 and pardoned on June 22, 1919.
