This book is a description of the Cape Cod Canal by the Vice President of the Cape Cod Canal Construction Company. Miller begins by expounding the early history of the Canal going back to the 17th and 18th centuries. He follows this by explaining the project's recent history in the late 1800s. Then he describes the period when August Belmont took over the project and the new characteristics and engineering features of this new project. Miller concludes this book by enumerating potential financial issues with the Canal project and the future of Cape Cod.
