The image is a portrait of Abraham Lincoln within an oval frame on a rectangular backing. Lincoln is depicted from the chest up, wearing a dark suit with a bow tie. The portrait is mounted with a decorative border at the bottom. The photograph was taken on the balcony of the White House, March 6, 1865 by H. E. Warren and was copied at Bostonian society.
