"Shoe Box of Leather"

Description

Design drawing with three views titled "Shoe Box of Leather." Front elevation is rendered in pencil, watercolor and metallic paint; top and side views are in pencil only. Shoe box or chest has domed lid; bail handle with batwing plate on each end; large flanged lock on the front; leather covering on all sides; and a row of metal tacks outlining all edges. Metal tacks also form x-shaped and quatrefoil motifs arranged along the front and top edges of the box. Title is hand printed. Embossed at the lower left corner: "Return to / A. H. Davenport Co. / 96 Washington St. / Boston, Mass."
