Joseph Bailey Parsons (1828-1906), prominent citizen of Northampton and Civil War veteran. William Wood's great-grandmother Keziah Parsons Phelps was a descendant of Cornet Joseph Parsons, Sr., an English settler and one of the original founders of Northampton, and his wife Mary Bliss Parsons, who was tried and acquitted of witchcraft.
