Description

The image shows the site of the B&A Pier in East Boston, Massachusetts, after the clearing of a grain elevator pier following a fire in 1908. The west wall of the elevator foundation is visible, constructed from large stone blocks and extending into the water. A wheelbarrow is situated on top of the retaining wall and wooden pilings, likely remnants of the pier structure, can be seen on the right side of the image. In the background, ships and the Boston skyline are faintly visible.
