Men work on Atlantic Avenue. The Portland Steamship office can be seen on the left side of the image. A sign reading "Smelters Ahoy, headquarters for bait" is at 324 Atlantic Avenue. Doorway has signs which appear to read "Lobsters by the plate" and "Oysters by the plate." kitchen ware. John Binney & Son at 326 Atlantic Avenue sells marine hardware, lanterns, tinware, kitchen goods, stoves, and fishing tackle.
