Description

Design drawing titled "Desk of Mahogany & Gold" rendered in pencil on trace. Front view is shown; plan of top is also provided. Fall-front desk has upper section with straight fluted crest and concave sides atop an open area flanked by two recessed drawers on each side; shallow fall-front supported by two lopers; one shallow drawer below curved shaped apron; and cabriole legs terminating in scrolled toe feet. Title, design notes, "Made for Mrs. Wells," "11302" and "N. Y. Order 21381/ Order 13185" are handwritten on drawing.
