Apply now for a Community Preservation Grant

May 1, 2024

Historic New England annually awards grants to one small to medium-sized organization in each New England state. In 2024, six Community Preservation Grants of $1,250 each will be awarded.

These grants support projects that save and share communities’ history as part of telling the whole story of New England. The application deadline is July 31, at 5:00 p.m.

Since its inauguration, Historic New England’s Community Preservation Grants program has helped more than seventy-five small to mid-sized history organizations save and share their stories. From Presque Isle, Maine, to Westport, Connecticut, these regional partnerships have raised the visibility and importance of preservation throughout New England.

Projects range from exhibitions, building repairs, interior building conservation, oral history documentation, tour translation, town history publications, interpretive signage, research on new stories, and collections care and access.
