Subseries C, Membership papers, 1908-1965, undated (#1.22-1.26, C.1.11-C.1.13, OB.1.5), contains membership cards, applications, certificates, and other related societal/organizational papers, belonging to the Doane and Merwin families. Membership certificates include the Bunker Hill Monument Association; Plimoth Plantation, Incorporated, in Plymouth, Massachusetts; and the Stockbridge Library Association in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Also included in the subseries are Elizabeth Wilson (Doane) Wilson (1871-1956) application papers for membership in the Massachusetts Society of the Colonial Dames of America (including photocopy); Marie Vipont deRiviere (Doane) Merwin (1878-1965) application papers for membership in the New England Historic Genealogical Society (including a 1938 booklet of society by-laws); stationary, notices, and general literature (including printed leaflets of the poem: Tapestry Weavers) relating to the National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons; and proceedings from the national reunion of the Doane Family Association of America (including membership card, #C.1.11). A 1953 notarized letter regarding Matthew Driver of Maryland and his genealogical relationship to Elizabeth Wilson (Doane) Wilson (1871-1956) and Marie Vipont deRiviere (Doane) Merwin (1878-1965) is also contained within the subseries (#1.22).
