Series V, Professional work, 1892-1982, undated (#C.8.7-C.9.20), contains annual reports, bills, business correspondence, clippings, financial records, legal records, lists of contacts, notes, photographs, printed material, resumes (Gropius and Nevin Summer), and other related papers regarding Walter's professional work. The series also includes Walter's professional certifications/registrations as an architect with the individual U.S. states and with National Council of Architectural Registration Board; Walter's patents; Ise's correspondence with journalists and researchers requesting biographical information on Walter; papers relating to exhibitions of Walter's work; and papers regarding donations of Walter's work to various repositories. Institutions represented in the series include the Architects Collaborative (TAC); the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.; the Berliner Handles-Gesellschaft; the Busch-Reisinger Museum of Germanic Culture, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts; the Bauhaus-Archiv (Archives), Berlin, Germany; Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany; the Frank'sche Eisenwerke Aktiengesellschaft; Harry Seidler and Associates, Limited: the Child-Walker School of Design, Stuart School, Boston, Massachusetts; and the Walter Gropius Foundation.
