"High Back Chair"

Description

Design drawing titled "High Back Chair" rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. Renaissance Revival-style arm chair has fully upholstered rectangular back with fringe or ruffle trim at bottom edge; large rocaille carved and gilded finials; fully upholstered rectangular seat with fringe or ruffle trim at bottom edge; single row of metal tacks along outer upholstered edges; square stiles below back extending into raked rear legs; shaped curved arms with large scrolled handholds; arm supports with ring and vasiform turnings; front legs with ovoid, ring, and block turnings and flattened disc feet; rectangular rear stretcher; turned H-stretcher; and large front stretcher with carved scroll and foliate motifs. Title and one note regarding gilding are handwritten on drawing; however, title is partially cut off.
