Arm chair has tall rectangular back; deep rectangular crest rail with stiles below; solid flared splat with stepped base; shaped arms with scrolled handholds; tapered square arm supports; upholstered seat with single row of metal tacks along bottom edge; narrow straight seat rails; tapered square legs, raked in rear; and brass shoes with casters on front legs. An alternate desgn for the arm and arm support is shown with the note "This arm for Carnegie Insittute." One design note and ""12632" are also handwritten on drawing.
