Description

Purple-gray carpet fragment. The rug from which this fragment was taken was in storage in what had been Dorothy Codman's bedroom on the third floor of the main house on the Codman Estate. At some time after 1930 the room was used for storage by the family. The rug appears in a 1969 inventory photograph of the room taken when Dorothy bequeathed the house to Historic New England.
