Description

Painted wooden sign with the top section grained. In corners there are painted quarter fans and it is painted to simulate Sheraton inlaid wood. Brackets for the sign's iron hooks extend into the grained area and cross the simulated inlay 8 7/8" into the board from the top. Only one side still has its large hinged attachment from which the sign hung. The other side of the hinge attachment has a different brace and the hinge is broken off.

Inscription

Lettering in the sign, painted in black and gold, across the top and bottom read: 1810 [in black at the top]/ C. BREWERS [along the base in yellow]/ INN [along the bottom edge in black].
