Do you know someone with a passion for collecting old photos, drawings, advertisements, postcards, theater programs, or other paper materials that capture our history? Have they taken steps to share their collection with the public? They could be the winner of Historic New England’s eighth annual Prize for Collecting Works on Paper.
Each year, Historic New England awards the Prize to one or more collectors or dealers who helped save significant collections of historic material that might otherwise have been lost or left unrecognized. Past winners focus on topics as diverse as the history of pets in New England, the region’s roadside diners, and ephemera produced by the Shakers.
The award of $500 and a Historic New England membership will be awarded at a public event in the summer. See a list of past winners.
