Langdon House garden arches undergo repairs

Jan 14, 2014

Few structures are as vulnerable as wooden garden features. The well-watered and rich soils that sustain gardens present especially challenging conditions, breaking down wood as part of the same cycle that nourishes the plantings. Regular maintenance is a must, and periodic replacement is inevitable.

This is the third consecutive year that the Langdon House rose arbor has undergone phased replacement of posts, arches, and laths. We anticipate several more years of work to address needed repairs.
