Historic New England’s Manager of Community Engagement and Exhibitions Ken Turino was recently elected to the Council of the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH). His four-year term begins right after AASLH’s Annual Meeting in Birmingham, Alabama, in September. “It’s an exciting time for AASLH and I’m very happy to be a part of it,” said Turino.

AASLH is a not-for-profit professional organization of individuals and institutions working to preserve and promote history. From its headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, AASLH works to advance knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of local history in America. The association also sponsors regional and national training workshops and an annual meeting.
