Located in Middlebury, Vermont, in the heart of the historic Lake Champlain Valley, the Henry Sheldon Museum is the nation’s oldest community-based museum, founded in 1882. It serves the public by caring for its historic buildings and Vermont artifact and archival collections, and presenting exhibitions and programs on Vermont and local history.
For the past three years, Historic New England and the Henry Sheldon Museum have successfully partnered to present exhibitions, including From Dairy to Doorstep and Take Me to the Fair. Now, we will strengthen this relationship by offering reciprocal opportunities for both organizations’ members and visitors.
Beginning immediately, Historic New England members will enjoy free admission to the Henry Sheldon Museum, discounted member rates at museum activities, and a 10% discount on purchases at the museum shop.
We look forward to sharing more about the Henry Sheldon Museum and our Vermont activities in the coming months.
