Governor Dannel P. Malloy visits Roseland Cottage

Aug 23, 2012

Governor Malloy toured the 1846 Gothic Revival house and carriage house, visited the indoor bowling alley and parterre garden, and spoke to staff and volunteers about the history of the property and the role regional attractions play in the state’s economy. Some of the things that interested the governor during his visit were Henry C. Bowen’s connection to Abraham Lincoln, the Lincrusta wall coverings, and the Downing-inspired landscape.
