"XVIII Century Italian Prayer Chair"

Description

Design drawing titled "XVIII Century Italian Prayer Chair" with two views. Front view is rendered in watercolor and pencil; side view is in pencil only. Classical Revival side chair has straight narrow crest which is padded and upholstered; back in the form of a large urn between two curved molded stiles; upholstered seat; seat rails with dentil molding and carved rosettes at corners; and four tapered square legs with ovoid feet. Title and scale are handwritten on drawing. Blind stamped at lower left corner: "Irving and Casson / A. H. Davenport Co. / Boston - New York."
