Description

T-shaped; red print on white ground; central motif of seated Louis XVI wearing Roman armor; lion at feet. Standing woman holds pike with liberty cap on top offers scales of justice to female Liberty accompanied by Mars and Minerva; followed by French citizen and Mercury. Cartouches of peasants plowing; scenes of dancing peasants; merchant ships in harbor. Below main motif framed oval scene of Bastille. Commercial corded and fuzzyball red and white fringe applied to scalloped side panel edges and along seams. Puffed rosettes attached at top corners; quilted in diamond pattern.
