Description

Oval bust portrait of Lucy Bowen (1825-1863; m. Henry c. Bowen 1844) with a carved gilt wood frame. Mrs. Bowen is portrayed wearing a pale yellow dress, gazing upward, her eyes are blue and hair a dark blond. Possibly an engagement portrait. The outer rim of the frame has typical Rococo cartouches or lambrequins. A thin lip and ogee molding.
