Description

This earring stand is composed of a flat metal ribbon arranged in a vertical spiral that rotates around a central rod. The rod is mounted at one end on three small splayed legs which each end in a soft white tip to protect furniture from scratches. The entire stand is enameled black.

Ise Gropius (1897-1983)
"Mementos: Jewelry of Life and Love from Historic New England": Ise Frank married Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius in Berlin in 1923. Their home in Lincoln, Massachusetts, is a monument to Gropius’s commitment to modern design and functionality. Many of Ise Gropius’s gems were gifts from friends and family. Others she most likely purchased at Design Research, her favorite Cambridge, Massachusetts, store.
