Rectangular box with hinged lid; brass shield on lid with engraved "1872" and unidentified initial; round brass keyhole lock on side front; drawer at bottom of box, no pulls, opens by interior button; rectangular engraved silver lock plate on lip of lid and silver escutcheon plate on lip of box; blue velvet interior lid secured by gold embossed leather bands; lid attached to box by two rectangular engraved silver hinges flanking a cartouche-shaped engraved silver plate with central interior button for releasing drawer; box contains toilet items: glass bottles and jars with silver caps, rectangular glass boxes with engraved silver covers, pearl-handled steel cuticle tools; lift out case with additional storage area below.
