Description

Oval, earthenware dish with scalloped rim and mulberry-colored transfer-print from the "Caledonia" series by William Adams and Sons. The pattern depicts two Scottish highland hunters, one climbs a rock with his rifle. In the distance a stag is chased by a dog, another hunter follows after them. The hunters wears kilts and hats with feathers. The scene is set in a mountainous, rural landscape. The border pattern is a repeating scene of Scottish hunters in kilts, one raising his hat in his hand, alternating with a scroll and flower figure.
