Description

FAN (A): Pierced mother of pearl sticks, inlaid with silver and gold flowers and peacocks; paper leaf painted with garden scene with people in 18th C. costume, with view of houses in background, and fountain and urns; reverse shows men and women acting in a play (Shakespeare's?). BOX (B): White bottom; domed top with green paper decorated wtih gilt border with silver and gold flowers; 12" long.
