Description

Rectangular leather covered document box or small trunk with hinged lid; brass posts with oval backplates to support a bale handle at top; edges of top bound with brass studs (plated with copper?) and securing decorative scalloped leather strip and plain piece of leather overhanging edge; bottom with brass studded corners fitted with wrought iron lock and hasp; interior lined with wallpaper of white background with small pink diamond-shaped pattern; traces of old newspaper.
