Description

Chippendale style reproduction. Four-legged, galleried square topped stand. Paper label on skirt inside reads: “W.J. Sloan, CARPETS, RUGS, + UPHOLSTERY - 3536 - Interior Decorations, Broadway + 19th St, New York.” Fret work gallery with scroll work at corners and pointed arches with diamonds above at center. Skirt having cup slide with scroll brass knob has applied ogee molding at bottom edge. Slightly splayed Marlboro legs with fret work brackets below skirt are heavily chamfered on inside edge. Added spines behind each bracket to accommodate splay as brackets cut at 90 degree angle.
