Description

Portrait of a man sitting, 3/4 length, facing slightly right, with his right arm resting on a chair back. He sits before a desk with a large letter book on it and a quill pen in his hand. In his left hand is a folded paper. He wears a black coat, grey trousers, and white stock. It is in a simple black frame with beaded gilded inner moldings.
